After 100 years of effort, it’s finally here!
Tuesday of this week, September 20th, I had the opportunity to take a tour of the new Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture. And boy it is AMAZING! (You’ll hear me use that word several times in the video.) The museum opens to the public on this coming Saturday, September 24th, and I hear that the timed tickets are already sold out until mid-November.
When I first entered the building, I only intended on taking pictures. However, I was overwhelmed with how moving and awesome it is, that I turned on the #Periscope app on my phone and started recording. Here’s what I saw (click on the blue Periscope button below to view.) Enjoy!

Seeing this mass collection of history should be on the top of everyone’s bucket list. Mark it as a “Must-Do”!

Every picture has a story to tell. Just by looking at it, emotions are captured as well. I am not sure how many people are enticed to visit museums these days. But knowing that new museums open, that is an indication that we still have a lot of history discovered, facts to know and people are interested and invested money to make it happen. From the research up to the start of operations of the museum.
