This past Sunday, June 19th (which was also Father’s Day and my 12th anniversary as a member of my home church), I was the featured author in the media center of the First Baptist Church of Glenarden, Maryland! 
While it was a long day, from 8:30am – 2:30pm, signing books after all 3 of the morning services, it was so rewarding!! I met some people who attend the same mega-church that I do, but have never seen before that day, and I also saw some people who I know outside of FBCG who just happened to be members of the same church that I am!
There were those who purchased multiple sets of all three of my book titles as gifts for their family members and friends. And I was touched by the mother who bought her two beautiful, young daughters to my table and introduced them to me and asked them to pick out a book for themselves. After I finished giving a brief overview of each book, her adorable nine year old picked up “With Style & Amazing Grace“, and her lovely eleven year old picked up “Jazz, Java & Jesus“.
It’s absolutely amazing to know that I have the opportunity to place a seed in the mind of a 9 year old that she’s beautiful because God said the He has fearfully and wonderfully made her, and the mind of an 11 year old that the Lord will keep all of His promises to her.
And, the most rewarding moments, and the reminders of why I do what I do, came from several women who hugged me and said, “Thank you for letting God use you!”
Priceless!
